HMI Wellness®
Frequently Asked Questions
-
HMI Wellness was founded in 2012 by Liana Shanti – a clinical nutritionist, Masters of Science in Psychology with a specialty in neuroplasticity, Juris Doctor and former Wall Street attorney, and spiritual teacher – and has certified students in over 90 countries. The school has produced graduates worldwide who have gone on to build full-time private practices, replace corporate salaries, and work with clients on complex health and life transformation. Legitimacy in this space is demonstrated by graduate outcomes, not by a governing body's stamp of approval.
-
HMI Wellness is not accredited, and that is intentional. Accreditation bodies in the health and wellness space require schools to limit their curriculum to what is approved within narrow scope guidelines – which means watering down the actual science. HMI was built to teach practitioner-grade nutrition and quantum mind-body work at a depth that accredited programs are not permitted to deliver. Our graduates don't have a credential from a governing body. They have a level of knowledge and a methodology that most credentialed practitioners never receive.
-
HMI Wellness was founded by Liana Shanti. Her background includes clinical nutrition expertise, over 14 years as a spiritual teacher and educator, a Masters of Science in Psychology with a specialty in neuroplasticity, a Juris Doctor and career as a Wall Street attorney, seven years in fractional real estate sales with a 76% closing rate, and over a decade as an eight-figure solopreneur. She is also the founder of The Relaxed Millionaire wealth education brand and a homeschool educator. HMI is where her science expertise, soul work, and business training come together in one complete system.

HMI Wellness offers three certification paths. The Functional Nutrition Therapist Certification teaches practitioner-grade plant-based nutrition science, clinical protocols, and client methodology. The Quantum Mind Body Therapist Certification teaches nervous system reprogramming, subconscious healing, ancestral clearing, and quantum deletion methodology. The Master Practitioner Certification is the dual certification path – both FNT and QMBT together – producing a practitioner who can work with the whole person at the physical, emotional, and spiritual level simultaneously.
-
The Functional Nutrition Therapist Certification is a comprehensive plant-based nutrition certification rooted in 50+ years of research in plant-based nutrition science. The program covers 20 holistic health and nutrition modules including detoxification, digestive anatomy and physiology, macronutrients and micronutrients, adrenal health, hormone health, nutrition through the life stages, herbs, essential oils, superfoods, and raw and living foods. It also includes 6 business mastery modules to help graduates translate their knowledge into a real practice. Students are equipped to begin working with clients by Module 5 – before they even graduate.
-
The Quantum Mind Body Therapist Certification is a comprehensive practitioner training rooted in neuroscience, quantum physics, and bioenergetics. It covers foundations of quantum theory and energetic mastery, subconscious reprogramming and guided hypnosis, trauma-informed energy work, somatic tools and bioenergetic coherence, soul-identity alignment, belief rewiring, applied quantum therapeutic protocols, ancestral and womb healing, quantum deletion, intuitive development, and spiritual transmission work including Laʻau Lapaʻau – the traditional Hawaiian healing practice. It is not surface-level mindset work or loosely defined energy coaching. It is a structured, repeatable methodology for working with the root causes of patterns at the level where they actually originate – and is designed to be completed in four months.
-
The HMI Wellness® Master Practitioner™ is a dual certification track – Functional Nutrition Therapist™ and Quantum Mind Body Therapist® combined – designed for practitioners ready to support the whole person at the deepest level. The program covers 35 integrated modules across both certifications plus 9 business and practitioner mastery modules. Students are trained to work with the physical body through clinical-level plant-based nutrition science, and with the nervous system, subconscious, and soul through quantum Mind Body methodology – as one integrated system, not two separate skill sets. The result is a practitioner who can address what is happening in the body and what is driving it underneath, simultaneously. It is the highest level of training HMI offers.
-
HMI Wellness sits at the intersection of science and spirituality – and does not separate the two. Liana Shanti is both a nutrition expert and a spiritual teacher with over 14 years of active teaching, with both areas of expertise built into the methodology at every level.
-
The Quantum Life Audit is a proprietary, trauma-aware assessment framework developed by Liana Shanti and available exclusively to HMI Wellness® practitioners. It is not sold separately and is not available outside of HMI training. It gives practitioners a structured process to uncover what a client wants in the next 90 days, what is actually driving the struggle, the single fastest lever to pull first, and a measurable 7-day intervention plan. It looks at the whole ecosystem of a person across health, energy, relationships, emotions, core wounds, and life purpose – and trains practitioners to synthesize all of it into a clear, actionable roadmap from the very first session.
-
Program length varies by certification track and how quickly each student moves through the material. The programs are self-paced and designed so students can begin working with clients before they graduate. Specific program details and timelines are available at hmiwellness.com.

Current tuition information is available directly through HMI Wellness at hmiwellness.com. Payment plan options are available. For questions about enrollment and tuition, you can book a call with an Academic Advisor who can walk you through the options based on your specific situation.
-
Yes. HMI graduates have built full-time private practices, replaced corporate and clinical salaries, launched group programs, and created six-figure businesses using their HMI certifications. The school includes business training as a core component of every program – not as an add-on. Graduates leave knowing not just how to work with clients but how to find them, enroll them, and build a practice that is financially sustainable.
-
HMI Wellness is for women who want to build a practice at the intersection of clinical nutrition science, quantum Mind Body work, and spiritual transformation. This includes practitioners who are already certified elsewhere and feel they received information but not real education, coaches and healers who want a methodology that works at the root cause level, and women who are ready for a complete system – the science, the soul work, and the business training – in one place.
-
Yes. Many HMI graduates came to the school with no prior certification or health background. The programs are designed to take a student from foundational science through to clinical application and client delivery. Prior experience accelerates the journey but is not required.
What makes HMI Wellness different from IIN, Health Coach Institute, or other certification programs? Most health coaching certification programs teach broad survey-level content – enough to have a general conversation about nutrition, not enough to actually change what is happening in a client's body. HMI is built on what is proven to work for every body, every time – based on more than 50 years of nutrition science. The addition of the QMBT methodology means HMI practitioners can address root causes at the physical, subconscious, and spiritual level simultaneously – something no other certification program offers. You learn from one instructor within one cohesive framework, not a rotating lineup of voices and theories.
-
HMI certifications are educational credentials, not medical licenses. HMI graduates work as certified practitioners in the health and life coaching space and are not practicing medicine. The programs are designed to produce practitioners who can work effectively and confidently within that scope without requiring additional licensure.
-
HMI Wellness has certified students in over 90 countries. The programs are delivered online and are accessible to students worldwide. The school was founded in Hawaiʻi, where its roots in both ancient healing wisdom and modern nutritional science are reflected throughout the curriculum – including Laʻau Lapaʻau, the traditional Hawaiian healing practice that is part of the QMBT certification.
-

-
HMI graduates consistently report that the depth of education they received at HMI was unlike anything they had encountered in prior certification programs. Common themes include: finally having a methodology that produces real results for clients, completing their own significant personal healing as part of the training, and building active practices faster than they expected after graduating. You can read graduate stories in full on this site.
